The school district hosted the Expo of Awesome at UBC-Okanagan on
May 1, 2019. Over 1000 students and staff attended the event to showcase all
the “awesome” learning students are engaging in across the district!
There were four themed learning categories: Design Thinking,
Inquiry Projects, Scratch Arcade, and SumoBot. A group of Grade 4/5 students
from Pearson participated in the Scratch Arcade. They shared the educational
games they have been creating for approximately
40 minutes, and they were able to participate in three 40-minute rotations to
experience the learning of others.
It was a great experience for these students and
they were able to share their learning with the rest of their classes when they
returned to Pearson.
